Mariano received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in May 2025 and joined the NCSU PhD program later that year. With a background in theoretical condensed matter physics, Mariano is interested in using quantum algorithms to tackle important problems in condensed matter physics and materials science. He is currently exploring Pauli propagation, a technique that can provide insight into spin models and the dynamics of quantum many-body systems.
