João joined the Kemper Lab in 2024 as a postdoctoral researcher, having previously worked at Iowa State University and Ames National Laboratory. João is interested in using numerical methods, both classical and quantum, to solve problems in condensed matter physics. Currently, he is working with hybrid classical-quantum approaches and quantum simulations of open quantum systems.
